Sustainability is primary at Qing Cheng Mountain
Sustainability is a defining characteristic of every Six Senses property. Here in the foothills of Qing Cheng Mountain range, our farm ensures a steady supply of fresh vegetables throughout the year, including those featured in the seasonal dishes at our restaurant. We regularly organize 'Happy Farm' activities, inviting families and children to join us in gaining insights into the planting and growth processes of local vegetables and herbs. Get ready for some farm-tastic fun! By purifying and bottling our own drinking water, we not only eliminate plastic bottles from entering our hotel but also lower our carbon footprint by reducing the required transportation to and from our hotel. 0.5 percent of total revenue goes to a Sustainability Fund, which is used to support an animal shelter and elderly in our community.

Black Bear Conservation
Giant Pandas have been a symbol of endangered species conservation worldwide, but do you know about China’s other Vulnerable and Endangered bear species, which also need help? Chengdu Bear Rescue Centre, run by Animals Asia, rescues and cares for more than 100 Asian black bears (moon bears), and a few brown bears, rescued from the bear-bile industry. The facility provides medical care and a semi-natural setting for the bears to live their best lives. Directing our support where it’s most needed, Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain is helping the sanctuary with renovations and hosting educational sessions aimed at ending the bear farming industry. Welfare for the Elderly
Although elderly people in the region receive medical and material support, when living in care institutions, they can often feel isolated, lonely, and unmotivated. For this reason, Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain hosts have gained 317 ‘adopted Grandparents’ living in the local nursing home, where we visit to host activities, give gifts, and spend time with the residents. From a personalized photoshoot for their families to crafting activities, we’re always seeking ways to show our care and appreciation for the older generation.

Chengdu Caring House Animal Shelter
The center was established in 1996 by Ms. Chen Yunlian, who is now 75 years old. She devoted all she had to save as many strays as possible, and the center currently shelters around 6,000 animals. We regularly take part in volunteer activities and donate supplies to the center, to give the cats and dogs a good quality of life.
